This December we welcome back to Selhurst Park some of the heroes from Palace’s 2009/10 seasons’ final day draw with Sheffield Wednesday - dubbed as one of the biggest matches in the clubs history - in the latest of our Sporting Dinner events.
In a season with the club in administration and the team docked 10 points, the fight against relegation looked near on impossible - but the 2009/10 squad of players achieved the unthinkable after a do or die showdown against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
For this special event, we welcome back a number of the players and leaders who secured our Championship status on that final day of the 2009/10 season – a pivotal day in saving the Club itself. This event offers you and guests the opportunity to meet the leaders from the team – Shaun Derry, Clint Hill & Paddy McCarthy – as well as a selection of the other heroes, including but not limited to goal scorer and talisman from that season, Darren Ambrose, and current goalkeeping legend Julian Speroni.
Guests will get insight into the story of that season, what it was like to play in such a crucial match, as well as the celebrations and relief that followed. Included with all ticketing options are comedy and fine dining, as well as the opportunity to support the Palace For Life foundation with select fundraising items throughout the course of the evening.
